Day of Giving
FAQs

1. What is Texas Tech’s Day of Giving?

Texas Tech’s Day of Giving is a 32 hour and 3 minute – or 1,923 minute event on March 24th-25th, where the entire Red Raider community comes together to support areas across the university.

Alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends are invited to make an impact by giving to initiatives that enhance programs, improve student experiences, and create lasting change at Texas Tech.

2. How do I participate in Texas Tech’s Day of Giving?

Participating is simple! On March 24th-25th, select the fund or program you’d like to support and make your gift.

Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us unite as a community and make a difference for Texas Tech and its students.

If giving isn’t possible now, sharing about Texas Tech Day of Giving on social media, using #TTUDayofGiving, helps spread awareness. However you choose to support, we encourage you to rally and share!

3. Can I give to any area of Texas Tech?

Yes! You can support any area that’s meaningful to you, whether it’s scholarships, academic programs, athletics, or student organizations. Your gift will have a direct impact on the future of Texas Tech.

If you’re unsure of what area you’d like to support, please consider a gift to the Texas Tech General Scholarship Fund. The general scholarship fund is awarded throughout each academic year and is available to new and current students.

If you don’t see your area of interest listed, you can still make a gift by visiting www.give.ttu.edu/dayofgiving26.

4. What if I’ve already given to Texas Tech this year?

Your participation in the Day of Giving still matters! It’s an opportunity to show your pride and join other Red Raiders in maximizing your impact. Gifts made during the event help unlock challenges and matching opportunities, amplifying the power of your donation.

5. Is there a minimum donation amount?

Yes, there is a $5 minimum donation. Every gift counts! Whether it’s $5 or $500, every contribution helps us reach our goal. It’s about participation and coming together as a community to support the areas of Texas Tech that mean the most to you.

6. Will my gift be tax-deductible?

Yes. Your gift is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. All gifts made to Texas Tech Day of Giving are processed by the Texas Tech Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, ensuring your donation benefits the university as intended. You’ll receive an emailed receipt after making your gift.

7.  When will my credit card be charged?

Your credit card will be charged immediately upon completing your donation through the Day of Giving website. You will receive a confirmation email shortly after your donation is processed, which will include the transaction details for your records. In some cases, depending on your credit card provider, it may incorrectly appear as ‘Texas Boys Ranch Foundation’. Please rest assured that this is only a processing error, and Texas Tech University has received your gift.
